What this site stores

Nothing. owtex.com sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from third parties. I do not know who visits, and I would like to keep it that way.

What The Score stores

The Score (at score.owtex.com) is the only part that keeps anything. It stores:

• an anonymous random id (a UUID), kept in your browser's localStorage so the game knows you are you next time;
• the nickname you choose;
• your results: each run, with timestamps and play-money balances.

I do not log your IP address myself. The hosting and database providers keep their own standard server logs, as every host does, and I do not use them for anything else.

Where it is kept

Game data lives in Supabase, in its EU region (London). The sites are hosted by Vercel. Both act as processors for me; neither is given your data for its own purposes.

Why

To run the game and the weekly leaderboard. That is the whole list. There is no advertising, no profiling and nothing is sold.

How long

Leaderboard entries are kept indefinitely, because a leaderboard that forgets is not much of a leaderboard. If you want yours gone, ask and I will delete it.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask to see what I hold about you, and ask for it to be deleted. Because the id is anonymous, tell me your nickname so I can find your entries. Get in touch through my GitHub profile. I will respond within 30 days.

If you are unhappy with how I handle things, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Children

The Score is not aimed at under-18s, and I do not knowingly collect data from them. If you think a child has used it, tell me and I will delete their entries.

Changes

If this changes, I will update it here and change the date at the top. Last updated: 10 October 2026.
